We were in town for a mtb race and following were starving and had a 5 hr drive ahead of us. We were surprised to find such a neat little place just outside of LBL. We had the bison burgers (which were okay), the bread was freshly baked and had a little sweetness to it, side of chips and a coffee. Irene (owner) bakes all the pastries and desserts every morning; the Nutella-filled hand pie was surprisingly delish and the perfect substitute for no beer (they don't serve alcohol). Overal, lunch for 2 w/desert was right at 40$.

I'm the first one?! Wow - surprising to me since there's a lot to be said about this cute little cafe out in Western Kentucky! I went to KY to visit family recently and stayed at the nearby Lighthouse Landings Resort. The morning after I arrived, I decided to take a walk to see what was around and after a short uphill trek I decided I was in need of some coffee and some breakfast. Lite Side Bakery & Cafe was directly in front of me, so I saw it as kismet and decided to have breakfast here. There is an outdoor seating area, but it was a little rainy out so I decided that I'd eat inside. Inside there is another small seating area and a glass case showing off delicious looking baked goods. I thought about trying the Black Forest muffin, but my indecision showed on my face and the woman at the counter (who I got the impression is the owner) asked me if I'd like any help deciding. She steered me toward the egg sandwiches, so I chose the breakfast sandwich with cheese and canadian bacon with a cup of coffee. Their coffee is absolute delicious and was served to me in an oversized fiestaware mug. As I sipped my coffee, I realized that I actually didn't have enough time to eat breakfast in the cafe. I asked for my food to go, and was accomodated immediately. The second woman working got me a to-go cup for my coffee and then topped me up so I had a full cup! Talk abuot hospitality. My sandwich was definitely unique - thick grilled bread with fluffy scrambled eggs, canadian bacon and chives sprinkled into American cheese. I have to admit, I couldn't finish the whole thing, but it was delicious. Also in the bag was a small serving of fresh fruit to go with my breakfast. It was the perfect amount of light and sweet after such a savory sandwich. To my extreme pleasure, my sister bought a box of muffins on her own, so the next morning I was able to try the Black Forest muffin after all. German chocolate muffin with strawberry filler - so delicious I had to stop myself from shoving the whole thing in my mouth at once. I don't know if I'll be back in this section of Kentucky again, but if I am, I'll be back!

Yay! I am a fan!!! My boyfriend and I were visiting the LBL and I located Lite Side Bakery and Cafe on yelp- thank you yelp! We were there on Saturday 6/6/15 and we both ordered the bison burger to go- OMG! People listen to me- the freshly baked buns are delicious and the burger is good- I can not wait to go back. The place is quaint, the service is friendly, the restroom is clean. When you order a burger, you get a bag of chips- they give you condiments, lettuce, and tomato for you burger. Thank you Lite Side for a delicious lunch- can't wait to see you again!! They offer outside seating as the inside is small but there are tables and a bakery counter full of sweet treats.

We went here for (829) 691-099lunch based on yelp reviews. Lunch for 2 adults, 2 kids without drinks or desert was 37.00. Sandwiches were fine, all served on very large fresh buns. Nothing special.

They have such a cute building with ample parking. Potted flowers, vegetables and herbs decorated their outdoor eating area. Inside their bakery, there are cases of muffins, pies and other baked goods. A slight cigarette smell permeated the air. We sat with several other families outside as we placed our breakfast order. I ordered the Breakfast Casserole. It came with a side of toast and a small fresh fruit cup. The casserole was a cubed mix of potatoes and sausage with an egg mix cementing it together. It was okay, slightly dry and overpriced ($9.50). My daughter got the breakfast sandwich which she said was great. My son got the Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream which looked fantastic. I mean, what's not to like about that? The people there were friendly and the service was good. Breakfast was quick and tasty. We would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

In addition to the great variety of fresh baked goods, the breakfast and lunch menus are terrific. You can even get box lunches and portions of their stews and casseroles. Never disappointed with the choices and how good everything is.

Oh how I wish Bob and Irene were still in San Diego! I went to the Lite Side while on a work related trip to KY. I have nothing but wonderful things to say. First, breakfast: I had the silver dollar pancakes. They were so cute and tiny but full of flavor. Second, lunch: yes, I had two meals here in one day. We were told all around town that we had to try to the Bison Burger at Lite Side. The recommendation was well worth it because it was hmm hmm good. Irene bakes the bread for the Bison Burger so its big, soft, and flavorful. The bison meat was lean and flavored with onions and other seasonings. I loved that the patty was shaped like a little Bison. Finally, you can't leave Lite Side without one of her lowfat muffins. Believe me, there is nothing lowfat tasting about them. The muffins are moist, full of flavor, and big! My travel companion and I had the chocolate chocolate chip and pumpkin cheesecake. I'll def be ordering muffins when I need my lite side fix. Too bad she can't ship the burger! Lite Side is in a cute little area of Grand Rivers so you can venture around town and wander for breaks in between meals ;) We took a trip to the Bison and Elk Prairie, which was about 30 minutes away. Good thing we didn't run into any Bison or I wouldn't have been able to eat his cousin for lunch. Thank you, Bob and Irene for a wonderful day of Gluttony!!!
